A lesson you don’t want to miss: drone piloting and tactical training for high school students – photos
In a shift from traditional textbooks, young people are now attending monthly "Defense of Ukraine" classes, learning to fly drones, shoot, provide first aid, and more. To foster the spirit of national unity, various patriotic education centers are being established in Ukrainian cities. Have a look at the "Defense of Ukraine" classes in different regions in this photo report.
In the Mykolaiv region, Bereznehuvate’s “Defense of Ukraine” class is the only one not held remotely. After enduring remote learning due to the pandemic and the devastating impact of the full-scale invasion, which included five Russian missile strikes on their school, students are now training in the very yard of their damaged lyceum.
Fourteen centers for national and patriotic education, staffed by veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, have sprung up in Lviv over the past two years. These centers offer high school students an integrated course called “Defense of Ukraine,” in which children learn the basics of military training.
