Andriy Dubchak’s photo exhibition at the World Media Congress in Copenhagen
The Association of Independent Regional Publishers of Ukraine, together with Media Freedom, the World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), organized a photo exhibition of Andriy Dubchak at the World Media Congress in Copenhagen.
Andrew Heslop, Executive Director of Freedom Press, emphasized the importance of this joint work. “Supporting the free press wherever it is threatened is unprecedented. We have demonstrated solidarity with the global industry in times of crisis. We remain deeply inspired by the courage and determination of our colleagues in Ukraine. Every day, Ukrainian media continue to work and serve their readers, viewers, and listeners, resisting destruction and dreaming of a better future,” he says. Check out Andriy’s work, because in reality, behind each of these photos there are not just emotions, but someone’s destroyed life…
A photo story of resistance
Dubchak’s photo exhibition at the Congress presented life under Russian attacks, the perseverance of civilians, and the work of Ukraine’s medics and volunteers. His lens has followed frontline evacuations, hospital corridors, destroyed schools, and military trenches.
From Maidan to Bakhmut
Andriy Dubchak has covered Ukraine since the Maidan revolution. His recent work focuses on Kherson, Bakhmut, and liberated territories. His approach combines visual storytelling with emotional depth — using photography not to shock, but to connect.
The presence of his work at a major global media congress helps ensure that Ukraine stays on the agenda. It also encourages other journalists to prioritize ethical war reporting, especially in complex conflicts.
